Background :
The Gokula Education Foundation (Medical) has launched the Ramaiah Institute of Science and Management (RISM), a new deemed-to-be university in Bengaluru focused on STEM and management education.
We developed this in partnership with the University at Albany, State University of New York. We aim to offer globally aligned, industry-focused programmes with a strong emphasis on practical learning and research.
The university will begin its first academic session in August and will initially operate from a transit campus in Yelahanka. Its main residential campus is being developed near Devanahalli in Bengaluru’s Information Technology Investment Region, close to major industrial and aerospace hubs.
RISM will offer undergraduate, postgraduate, and doctoral programmes in engineering, business, and science. Initial courses include Computer Science, Artificial Intelligence, Aerospace Engineering, Electrical Sciences, BBA, and MBA.
The academic structure will focus on internships, live projects, capstone assignments, and industry-sponsored Centres of Excellence to strengthen job-ready skills.
The management said the university has been designed to bridge the gap between classroom learning and industry needs. It added that students will gain direct exposure to industry through mentor professors and senior business leaders serving in faculty roles.
The knowledge partnership with the US-based university will support curriculum development, research collaboration, and global learning opportunities. The institution aims to build future-ready graduates equipped with strong technical knowledge, critical thinking and cross-disciplinary skills.
The launch marks a major expansion of the Ramaiah Group’s education network and strengthens Bengaluru’s position as a growing centre for advanced education and research.
