Background-

The Indo-Ukraine Chamber of Commerce and Industry (IUCCI) has launched the Ukraine Education Hub in April to make higher education in Ukraine more accessible for Indian students. The initiative aims to help students explore academic courses, understand admission procedures, and receive guidance on universities and study programmes.

The hub provides information for Indian students interested in studying in Ukraine. It covers details on universities, admission procedures, and available programmes across different academic areas.

The development comes as efforts continue to strengthen educational ties between India and Ukraine. Ukraine’s Ambassador to India, Dr. Oleksandr Polischuk, described the launch as a new phase in bilateral cooperation and appreciated the steps being taken to deepen relations between the two countries.

The initiative also addresses the concerns of thousands of Indian students, especially medical students, who had to return to India following the conflict in Ukraine four years ago. IUCCI founder Armie Channa said that while medical education has traditionally attracted Indian students, Ukraine also offers opportunities across several other academic fields. He also pointed to a growing focus on safer western regions of Ukraine, along with hybrid and online learning options.

The hub will also work to strengthen institutional partnerships between Indian and Ukrainian universities through academic exchange and student mobility programmes. Co-founder Tanya said the platform aims to act as a bridge connecting Indian students and institutions with Ukraine’s education system while creating more opportunities for cross-border learning and collaboration.
