The Association of Australian Education Representatives in India, the apex body representing certified Australian education agents in the country, has launched a digital platform to authenticate the academic, identity and financial credentials of Indian students applying to study in Australia.
AAERI unveiled the platform, named AAERI Verify, at its annual convention in New Delhi. AAERI president Nishidhar Borra presented the launch alongside senior officials from the National e-Governance Division under the Ministry of Electronics and Information Technology.
The system draws on India’s digital public infrastructure, particularly DigiLocker, to enable consent based verification of records directly from source issuers.
Fraudulent applications have long troubled Australia’s international education sector, with universities and regulators raising repeated concerns over doctored certificates and inflated financial statements submitted by prospective students. AAERI Verify seeks to close that gap by giving institutions a trusted, tech driven way to confirm applicant details before an offer is issued.
According to the association, the platform can cut manual verification timelines of five to nine days down to digital checks completed in around 120 to 240 seconds. Identity and address documents, academic records and financial sponsorship credentials all fall within its scope.
Verification reports are anchored on the Avalanche blockchain, creating an immutable audit trail that overseas institutions can independently verify. Zupple Labs serves as the platform’s technology partner, and the service is now live at aaeri-verify.com. Authorised AAERI member agents, partner universities and institutional verifiers can access the system.
More Indian students are choosing Australia for higher education, and that growth is pushing agents and institutions to catch fraudulent applications earlier in the process.
