Background
Andhra Pradesh and Australia put pen to paper on four agreements covering clean energy, higher education, inclusive learning and skill building across the state.
Officials signed the agreements before state HRD minister Nara Lokesh and Julian Hill, Australia’s assistant minister for International Education and Citizenship, Customs and Multicultural Affairs.
One pact brings the state’s Centre of Excellence for Energy Transition together with IIT Tirupati and the University of New South Wales, Sydney. Together, they will build a Centre of Excellence for Solar Manufacturing at IIT Tirupati, adding weight to the state’s clean energy plans and its advanced manufacturing base.
A separate deal draws in UNSW, Sri Padmavati Mahila Visvavidyalayam and Samagra Shiksha, with a shared goal of widening inclusive education across Andhra Pradesh and giving more students equal access to quality learning.
Student mental health forms the core of a third pact. APSCHE and Rebound, an Australian organisation, plan to run a technology-driven pilot programme in selected higher education institutions across the state.
Vocational training anchors the fourth pact, struck between APSSDC and Dynamic Learning Services of Australia. Both sides plan to sharpen industry-oriented skill training, work toward globally recognised certifications and open pathways to international employment for students.
Taken together, the four pacts widen Andhra Pradesh’s ties with Australia, touching renewable energy, higher education, inclusive learning and workforce readiness in one sweep.
