Background-
Amity University Madhya Pradesh’s Amity Institute of Pharmacy (AIP) has been awarded the ‘A’ Grade by the Quality Council of India-National Accreditation Board for Education and Training (QCI-NABET), a rating given under the aegis of the Pharmacy Council of India (PCI).
The institute now holds the distinction of being the only pharmacy college in Madhya Pradesh to earn this rating. Nationally, just 64 pharmacy institutions have achieved the grade out of 398 colleges offering B.Pharmacy and allied programmes.
The evaluation, carried out through the National Ranking and Rating of Pharmacy Colleges Offering UG Programmes, assessed institutions on academic quality, governance, infrastructure, industry-aligned curriculum, research output and student-centric learning. The process highlights colleges that show strong institutional practices and consistent quality standards in pharmacy education.
Lt. Gen. V.K. Sharma, AVSM (Retd.), Pro Chancellor of Amity University Madhya Pradesh, described the honour as a proud moment for the Amity community and credited faculty, staff and students for maintaining high standards in teaching, research and innovation that led to the recognition.
Prof. (Dr.) R.S. Tomar, Vice Chancellor of the university, congratulated the institute’s faculty and students on the milestone and encouraged them to keep advancing research that translates into practical healthcare solutions with wider societal benefit.
The university added that it plans to keep strengthening academic quality, pharmaceutical research and industry partnerships to prepare graduates for meaningful roles across the healthcare and pharmaceutical sectors as India builds its pharmaceutical ecosystem.
