Bengaluru to Welcome Liverpool University Campus in 2026 with Industry Linked Programs

Background:

The University of Liverpool will open a Bengaluru campus by September 2026, offering affordable undergraduate and postgraduate programs.

Lucy Everest, Chief Operating Officer at the University of Liverpool, shared that the first cohort will welcome around 250 students. “They will really be our very special year one cohort that we’ll look after very well,” she said. 

Students will study the same curriculum as in Liverpool, with international faculty from India and the UK delivering the courses, and receive identical degree certificates that connect them to the university’s global alumni network.

The Bengaluru campus, located in Alembic City, a development converted from a historic glass factory, will feature interactive, tech-enabled classrooms similar to the UK facilities. The campus is in Alembic City, home to Google’s new building, highlighting Bengaluru’s growing role as a business and tech hub. Students will get industry-based learning with local and multinational companies like Hindustan Unilever.

Applications are now open online, and the admission process is designed to match Indian boards such as CBSE, Cambridge, and IGCSE. Scholarships will be offered, and students can also join exchange programs to study in the UK.

Everest said Bengaluru was chosen for its strong connectivity and thriving business environment, giving students excellent learning and career opportunities. Construction is on track, and the campus will welcome students from March-April 2026, with hostels added as the student numbers increase.
